TruDonion Choir
2005 Winners of the Intermountain Choral Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah
The Susan Miller Dorsey High School TruDonion Choir is a multi-cultural choir that has been the signature choir of Dorsey for decades. These exciting high school students sing with maturity and passion, and are a joy see and hear. From soaring sopranos to warm altos, from inspiring tenors to mellow baritones these young people have their stuff together. From Handel's Hallelujah Chorus to a soulful spiritual by Jester Hairston, from songs in Samoan to songs in German, from Kirk Franklin to Yolanda Adams, even original songs, spoken word, they can do it all!
The director is Ms. M. Payne and Mr. R. Hines is her assistant. They have been working with the group for the past three years and are to serve as mentors to this student driven, student led group. In 2003, this edition of the TruDonion Choir started with nine singers and has grown to over forty-five singers and a touring choir of fifteen.
This year, the choir will be performing in Candace Cole Productions, "Carnegie Hall is In My View" on November 19, 2005 at the Wilshire Ebell Theater. This is their first professional stage play. And in an ironic twist of fate, they have been invited to sing at the real historic Carnegie Hall, April 22, 2006.
So if you love to sing and are interested in joining the choir contact Ms. Payne or Mr. Hines in Room E-lO or email us
